Overview
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading shift employees by providing leadership, guidance, and follow-through in support of the production operational plan. The focus of the job is to maximize production and improve safety and quality of the shift with the available resources. This role supervises activities of designated departments by performing primary duties during shift. Continuously look for ways to develop the skills and improve effectiveness of employees. Responsibilities
Supervise and provide daily guidance to shift employees in the plant. Effectively communicate significant business and production issues. Interpret, communicate, and enforce company policies, safety regulations and programs. Communicate and enforce high expectations of quality and production standards. Work with personnel to determine root causes of quality and safety issues. Effectively interact with other manufacturing departments and support groups within the organization. Recommend measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Foster and drive continuous improvement efforts (i.e., Kaizen, 5s, Standard Work, etc.). Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve safety, quality, and OEE. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving their own work problems. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate associates to achieve work goals. Perform administrative duties competently (i.e., ADP, WMS Inventory transactions, production reports, performance evaluations, safety investigation reports, etc.). Complete special project assignments. Maintain vacation and timekeeping records and schedules. Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable. Associates degree and or Bachelors’ degree preferred. 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment leading shifts with 40+ employees. Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in high volume, fast paced work environment with a bias towards action. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with all employees through senior leadership level. Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and best practices; familiarization with Dynamics GP, LEAN Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles. Bilingual a plus Summary
