What Youll Do As a Project Engineer, you’ll support the day-to-day field operations on construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and communication all align. You’ll assist WCG’s field leadership team, typically on the jobsite overseeing materials, quality control, and other administrative aspects to coordinate resources and deliver results that exceed client expectations.

Key Focus Areas

Project Administration: Manage RFIs, submittals, schedules, procurement, closeouts, change requests, and more, playing a vital role from pre-construction through completion. Support risk management efforts of the project team (35%)

Contract & Scope Management: Understand the prime agreement and assist with drafting and issuing subcontracts and purchase orders in Procore (25%)

Safety Oversight: Assist with enforcement of jobsite safety standards (5%)

Project Support: Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day‑to‑day operations, subcontractor coordination, and task management (15%)

Project Closeout: Lead the project closeout process by developing and monitoring punch items, and compiling closeout, warranty, and O&M documentation for the owner (20%)

What Youll Need

Either a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of progressive construction experience.

Safety and hazard recognition awareness.

ASTA or similar scheduling software familiarity/experience is a plus.

Passion for problem solving and client service.

Commitment and drive to be part of a successful team.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.

Familiarity with process management of RFIs, ASIs, submittals, and other industry practices.

Ability and knowledge to support site work, structural systems, building exterior systems, finishes, layout, and the like.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office + Outlook.

Excellent communication, leadership, and scheduling skills.

Ability to participate, coordinate, and document meetings, including OAC and Subtrade meetings.

Safety focused; Experience with Procore, OSHA 10, and First Aid/CPR.

Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/move up to 20lb, climb ladders/stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and operate construction/office equipment.

Some standing, walking, reaching, and manual dexterity.

Must be comfortable working at heights and in various site conditions.
