About the Role The Working Foreman plays a dual role as both a skilled tradesperson and on‑site leader. This position is responsible for supervising daily construction activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and performing hands‑on work as needed to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision : Oversee day‑to‑day field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Crew Leadership : Direct and motivate team members and subcontractors; provide guidance and training where needed.
Hands‑On Work : Perform carpentry, framing, concrete, or other trade work alongside the crew when necessary.
Project Coordination : Work closely with project managers to plan daily activities, manage materials, and report progress.
Safety Compliance : Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain a clean, organized job site.
Quality Control : Inspect work for accuracy, craftsmanship, and compliance with plans and codes.
Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations, office staff, and clients.
Documentation : Maintain daily reports, time sheets, delivery logs, and other required documentation.
Problem Solving : Identify and address issues quickly to minimize delays or rework.
Qualifications
Experience : 5+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role.
Skills : Strong understanding of all phases of construction including layout, framing, concrete, finishes, and MEP coordination.
Knowledge : Familiarity with reading blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
Communication : Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to communicate clearly with crew and management.
Technical : Comfortable using basic project management software, mobile apps, and digital reporting tools.
Certifications : OSHA 10 or 30 preferred; valid driver’s license required.
