The Electrical Project Estimator at Cogent Analytics will study, evaluate, and understand project plans, designs, and specifications. The role includes identifying project resources, generating cost estimates for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors, obtaining multiple bids, assisting in contract negotiations, and supporting Project Managers with change orders during downtime.
Base pay range
$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr Essential Functions
Attend pre‑bid meetings to understand project intent and owner requirements. Prepare RFIs to identify conflicts in bid documents and clarify scope. Follow up on field activity and submitted proposals to track bid evaluation status. Read and comprehend specifications and trade drawings to determine electrical requirements. Develop itemized costs using take-offs and software such as AccuBid, Enterprise, and Live Count Plan Viewer. Prepare bills of material and submit for supplier quotes. Navigate client plan rooms for revised documents. Complete estimating tasks under tight deadlines. Markup drawings and documents in Bluebeam Revu 2016 for RFI submission. Assist in drafting the electrical scope letter for the final proposal. Coordinate with engineers on BIM layouts. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Team orientation and ability to lead and collaborate on multiple projects. Strong communication skills for conveying complex information sensitively. Proficiency with estimating software: AccuBid, Enterprise, Live Count Plan Viewer. Knowledge of building construction methods, materials, and related codes. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities. Initiative, responsibility, and flexibility. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); General understanding of internet client/server structures. Attention to detail. Education / Experience / Licensing
Minimum of 4+ years experience as an Electrical Construction Estimator. Residential and commercial experience is a plus. Seniority level
