Shift: 2nd Shift (M-F 4:00 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.)
Pay: $23.50+ per hour – plus $0.75/hr shift differential, based on experience.
This is an individual‑contributor position responsible for assisting with all functions of preventive and repair maintenance, electrical, electronic, and mechanical work for the Coatings Division to achieve personal and professional growth. The Maintenance Technician will also learn basic metal fabrication (welding, cutting, brazing) and work safely with required PPE.
Essential Functions
Assist with testing, inspecting, repairing and re‑assembling basic plant equipment, components, and systems.
Assist with electrical work and basic metal fabrication under supervision.
Maintain accurate records of labor and materials used on each repair.
Communicate with maintenance and production teams via email, phone, and in person.
Operate gauging equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and dial calipers.
Maintain tools and equipment; ensure proper storage.
Operate powered industrial trucks, aerial platforms and bridge cranes after company training.
Complete Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out training and other safety certifications.
Climb and work from ladders, aerial platforms, bridge cranes, and roofs in excess of 80 feet.
Wear all required PPE and work in non‑temperature controlled environments, including outdoors.
Important Details About the Role
Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Domestic travel overnight up to 2% annually.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (most frequent lift up to 30 pounds).
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb as required.
Participates in Safety and LEAN initiatives.
Required Qualifications
0–1 year of relevant experience.
Mechanical aptitude and desire to learn.
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to operate powered industrial trucks, aerial platforms and bridge cranes (company trained).
Ability to operate in arc flash safety, confined space entry, hazardous energy control and fall protection (company trained).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; standing or walking 75% of workday.
Understanding of PPE requirements.
High awareness for safety.
Ready to perform 1–2 overtime shifts per week if needed.
Passion, integrity, drive to excel.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Have
Actively pursuing an Associate’s or Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field.
Six months of industrial maintenance experience.
Six months of basic welding/fabrication experience.
Six months of troubleshooting skills experience.
