As a member of our Engineering Services Team, you will be responsible for creating substation drawing packages including:
One-line drawings
Substation plan and elevation drawings
Electrical assembly drawings
Equipment manufacturing drawings
Foundation and grounding plan drawings
Conduit and cable routing plan drawings
Cable schedules
Bill of materials
Detailed electrical connection drawings

A Day In The Life
Responsibilities include risk assessment and mitigation reviews related to the engineering and design scope for electric substations, such as: Substation structures and modifications to existing steel structures Below and above grade civil works Environmental review and compliance General arrangement and profile drawings Project scoping Grounding Specifications and standards adherence Safety and QA/QC procedures Substation equipment and devices Assist in developing project estimates related to substation design opportunities. Develop and modify substation drawings as needed. Mentor engineers by teaching fundamentals of substation design, project management, and considerations outside of electrical aspects, such as structural, geotechnical, civil, and environmental factors. Develop organizational structures for complete substation design projects. Travel approximately 10% for customer visits. What will help you thrive in this role? Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Minimum of eight years’ experience in Substation Engineering Active PE License in a US State, with willingness to obtain additional licenses Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Project management experience with multi-team coordination About Hubbell Hubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions powering communities and the planet.
