Job Title
HVAC Service Technician
Job Summary Install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
Install new HVAC units, including brazing, line sets, refrigerant trimming, and charge addition.
Pipe system installation: drain piping, P‑traps, water lines, gas lines, valves, and actuators.
Coil, compressor, condenser, fan, motor, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressor installation.
Start‑up, testing, and commissioning of RTUs, air handlers, VAVs, fan coil units, swamp coolers, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
Leak testing and repairs: brazing, soldering, and component connection inspection.
Preventative maintenance: vacuuming, cleaning, filter changes, and oiling parts.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining similar commercial HVAC equipment and a current Universal CFC certification.
Experience working on ladders, roofs, and attics.
Ability to operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Physical requirements: ability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods; lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs; climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights; wear PPE (dust mask, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection).
