Mechanical Engineer (Level II) Exempt, Full-Time, On-Site TSS Solutions of Melbourne, FL is looking to hire a full-time Mechanical Engineer. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with 5-7 years of experience to lead the design, analysis, and development of mechanical components and systems for complex electronics and defense-related applications. Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering Documentation & Testing Project Execution Customer & Team Interaction Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. 5-7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in electronics packaging, aerospace, or defense applications. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. Hands-on experience with mechanical design for low-volume production, including reverse engineering of legacy systems. Familiarity with PCB layout, electronics housing design, and digital/RF packaging standards. Working knowledge of Air Force TOs, metrology tools, and mechanical inspection processes. Ability to develop and manage detailed BOMs, drawing packages, and configuration-controlled documentation. Contribute to technical proposal efforts as part of a program capture team. Support internal and external design reviews, Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) activities to demonstrate the mechanical design meets all specifications and customer requirements. The ability to critically examine new or existing designs, verifying proper design principles application. Ability to support mechanical system and component alignment, testing, troubleshooting and evaluation Experience interfacing with machine shops and fabricators to ensure manufacturability and quality. Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM (user-level required; admin-level preferred). Experience in Configuration Management and quality documentation practices; Working knowledge of ASME Y14.100 standards Exposure to Altium CoDesigner and wire harness design Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional project teams and manage engineering tasks independently. Understanding of structural and thermal analysis utilizing finite element analysis and classical techniques to establish design validity Ability to work with other engineers to optimize designs for thermal and structural performance. Ability to obtain a U.S Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in defense, aerospace, or similar regulated industries. Certification or coursework in project management, process improvement, or Lean manufacturing. Previous experience as a trainer or technical lead in engineering settings. Altium, AutoCAD, or other CAD tool exposure for interdisciplinary collaboration. Basic understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) concepts Core Competencies
