Successful candidates will be provided with hands-on training and will contribute to a range of engineering tasks, from moderate to complex. Responsibilities include conducting research studies, engineering investigations, and assessments related to various engineering functions. Additionally, candidates will carry out civil engineering tasks of moderate complexity under the supervision of an Engineer-In-Charge. The scope of work and training encompasses one or more of the following specialized areas: design, drafting, engineering investigations, cost estimation, specification writing, structural calculations, conducting field surveys, and participating in design-related site inspections. Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERN - 20202 Minimum Qualifications A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. A degree in any other engineering area or in civil engineering technology is not acceptable. Preferred Skills Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (i.e., roadway, sewer, and/or water main) Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards Comprehensive understanding of the NYC infrastructure system and current engineering practices Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred) Valid driver\'s license (required) Personal vehicle (optional) Program/Adjustments This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
