The Department of Design & Construction, Division of Infrastructure is seeking a Junior Engineer for the South Queens – Section 1 team.
The selected candidates will receive hands-on training and assist in engineering work, research studies, investigations, and examinations related to engineering functions. They will perform civil engineering work of moderate difficulty under supervision, in areas such as design, drafting, investigations, estimating, specifications, structural computations, field surveys/inspections, and some site inspections.
Authorization to work in the United States is required. NYC Department of Design and Construction does not sponsor international employees. Applicants must meet all qualifying requirements at the time of application.

Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. Degrees in other engineering fields or civil engineering technology are not acceptable.
Preferred Skills
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
Construction knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (roadway, sewer, water main)
Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP specifications, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards
Understanding of NYC infrastructure and current engineering practices
Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling and ENV SP credential (preferred)
Valid driver's license (required)
Personal vehicle (preferred)
