Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee – SPS PoolCare
The Pool Maintenance Specialist Trainee will maintain pools at clients' and associated facilities for the company.
Duties / Responsibilities
Assists the Pool Maintenance Specialist to clean and maintain filled pools and facilities by skimming, vacuuming, and performing chemical treatments.
Periodically empties pools to perform deep cleaning, including brushing and scrubbing walls, floors, and surfaces.
Assists the Pool Service Specialist to regularly test pool water for pH, chlorine, presence of bacteria, algae or contaminants, and other data.
Receives training from the Pool Service Specialist to ensure correct color, chemistry and clarity of pool water.
Calculates and adds chemical treatments to maintain pH balance, eliminate contaminants or correct other problems.
Inspects pool and equipment.
Assists the Pool Service Specialist to complete and maintain daily logs outlining chemical usage, water quality, repairs and supplies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
Understanding of pool cleaning chemicals and equipment related to swimming pools.
Mechanical and manual‑labor skills related to aquatic facilities and equipment.
Math skills to calculate chemical additives and ratios.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time.
Must have adequate sight and hearing to properly interpret water analysis, equipment readings and complete record‑keeping.
Physically able to perform all aspects of cleaning, checking and monitoring pools and facilities.
Salary : $18 - $20 hourly
