Primary Functions:
Installs, programs, maintains, or troubleshoots programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) in an industrial setting. Set-up, adjust and maintain equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment. Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and adjustments to maintain maximum production throughput and quality. Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance. Performs routine start-up inspections and preventive maintenance checks and reports findings to supervision and takes appropriate action. Work from drawings, specifications, and instruction manuals. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and PLC's. Experience repairing the following equipment is required: Auger Fillers, Gable Top Carton Filling Machines, Vertical Form/Fill/Seal Machines, Combination Scales, Conveyor Systems, Ink Jet Printers, Liquid Processors, Ribbon Blenders, Vibratory Screens, X-Ray and Metal Detection equipment. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements:
High School Education Three to Five years of related experience or training Performs the fundamentals of PLCs including processor configuration, Digital Input and Output (I/O) wiring, digital & analog concepts, and PLC program instructions. Proficiency with advanced programming instructions, remote I/O, introduction to advanced troubleshooting focusing on the Allen Bradley SLC – 500 & Compact Logic PLCs, Rockwell Software (RS Logic 500 & 5000), and Siemens processors and programming.
