Production Supervisor – Data Center Cooling
The Production Supervisor position reports directly to the Manager of Manufacturing/Operations. This position is responsible for supervising and directing employees in the manufacturing and assembly areas. The role plans, assigns work, monitors adherence to policies and procedures, coaches and mentors the team, recommends improvements in production processes and working conditions. The supervisor ensures the results of the team; continuous safety focus, process and product quality, workplace organization (5S), product delivery, and other key performance indicators. The supervisor also ensures all direct staff understand and comply with the company’s defined standard work practices and safety procedures. The supervisor passionately supports and trains operators in the Nortek Production System tools and methodologies, fosters employee involvement and communication by maintaining the Level 1 boards and facilitating daily meetings to continuously improve safety and manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities
Actively present on the front line 70% of time and perform 30% administrative responsibilities (time/attendance/interviews/discipline or coaching).

Review safety policies and practices within your area and set expectations and involvement of the team.
Champion the assembly safety culture and implement employee-based safety awareness.
Identify and implement solutions for improvements in safety, quality, and productivity using strong problem‑solving skills.
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes using knowledge of Operational Excellence manufacturing principles.
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems identified in the manufacturing processes.
Prioritize and perform multiple tasks as required, exhibiting strong teamwork and personal responsibility.
Implement, maintain, and comply with Workplace Organization (5S) in the respective areas.
Provide supervision and leadership of assigned assembly line personnel, building trust and confidence within the team, effectively communicating departmental goals and project objectives.
Make sound and timely decisions, demonstrating leadership skills and setting an example for others.
Communicate with team and interact daily, fostering a sense of personal responsibility and ownership.
Ensure tasks are understood, monitored, and accomplished within appropriate time constraints and quality parameters.
Monitor line and manage data and information on Level 1 board(s) for necessary countermeasures and problem solutions.
Coach and mentor team leads and operators to improve processes and develop depth of talent.
Provide coaching, counseling, and/or disciplinary action(s) as needed per company policies.
Maintain respectful presence to all employees, including verbal and written communication.
Exhibit problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure all team members can identify root causes and act quickly to resolve problems.
Maintain training matrix and team skills for current and future production demands.
Conduct training and understanding of the Nortek Production Systems.
Monitor use of company resources efficiently to ensure best operating costs.
Promote one‑piece flow and standardized work within the facility.
Read and understand fabrication and assembly drawings and synthesize to others.
Maintain time and attendance of production staff in the systems.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Experience in a mixed‑model manufacturing environment using lean principles.
Collaborative teamwork skills and strong communication, written and verbal.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
Job Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of plant‑level operations experience in a high‑volume/mixed‑model production environment. Direct supervisory experience is required.
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering, business management, or related discipline (preferred).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to navigate an ERP system (plus).
