Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level
Join Penske Truck Leasing as a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III – an entry level position where you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest, best‑maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help keep our customers’ trucks in shape and on the road.

Main Responsibilities
Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
Performing preventative maintenance such as tire rotations and component lubrication, electrical and cooling system work on gas and diesel engines
Partnering with your manager to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
Assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
Valid driver’s license
Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Team player, reliable attendance, and ability to work well independently and in a team
Basic computer skills
Compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety policies
Ability to meet DOT driver qualification requirements including MVR, DOT physical, and drug screening
Willingness to work required schedule, perform background checks, pass drug screen and physical, and travel within local area for training
Physical Requirements
Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, and operate tools and controls daily
Work safely at heights with ladders and platforms
Work in all weather conditions
See and hear to navigate the work environment
Lift / move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally
Pay:
$22.75/hr
