Overview
This position at Primoris Services Corporation is responsible for daily operations and maintenance of wind turbines. This role requires extensive travel throughout the United States. A safety-first attitude and commitment to doing the job right the first time are essential. Primary Job Responsibilities
Promote and comply with all company and safety policies and procedures. Work in and around wind turbines. Climb multiple wind towers on a daily basis. Interact professionally with customers and coworkers on a daily basis. Demonstrate safety as a top priority. Install, inspect, maintain, operate, and repair wind turbines. Diagnose and fix problems that could cause turbine shutdown or improper operation. Climb towers to inspect, troubleshoot, or repair turbine equipment. Perform routine maintenance on wind turbines. Test electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems; troubleshoot malfunctions. Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems. Replace worn or malfunctioning components. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Active TWIC card or ability to obtain one. Technical 2- or 4-year degree or certificate in wind energy or related field preferred. Minimum one year of experience working in and around wind turbines, specifically for troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, or wind energy degree or certificate. Experience using basic power and hydraulic tools. Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred). Preferred Skills/Abilities
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to Zero Injury principles. Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, reports, and manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measuring using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use hydraulic tension and torque tooling. Knowledge of entering and exiting the rotor, including locking out the rotor. Knowledge of using the internal chain hoist. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution. Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation. Ability to read, interpret and understand basic drawings and schematics. Ability to climb stairs and ladders up to 125 meters in height. Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions. Able to maintain certifications required to perform the work, including but not limited to: First Aid / CPR, Tower Climb and Rescue, LOTO, Arc Flash, etc. Ability to demonstrate basic industrial safety practices / protocols including LOTO. Comfort working remotely in a turbine as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction. Physical Requirements
Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots). Must pass a physical exam if required. Able to climb and balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (Use assistance for heavier loads). Stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces. Must be able to wear a respirator and other PPE when required. Work Location
