Filamatic, a division of National Instrument, LLC, is an OEM of industrial liquid filling and packaging machinery with a long history of exceeding customer expectations. We’re looking for a CNC Machinist to support our manufacturing team, produce parts and tooling on a variety of industrial machines, and collaborate closely with sales to fulfill spare‑parts orders. The role requires reading blueprints, operating CNC mills and lathes, and working with CAD/CAM programming systems to meet production deadlines and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate various equipment and CNC machinery, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and more, to minimize downtime and production errors.

Manufacture parts on various machines from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to meet delivery schedules and quality requirements.

Design fixtures, tooling, and parts to satisfy machining specifications.

Measure and examine completed parts to ensure they meet specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Work with CAD/CAM programming systems to edit and troubleshoot G‑code programs.

Follow a first‑shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, typically starting between 6:00 am and 8:00 am, with an 8.5‑hour day and a 30‑minute lunch break.

Qualifications

Ability to read drawings, schematics, sketches, and interpret oral instructions.

Strong understanding of machine shop principles and cutting tools such as end mills, boring bars, drills, taps, slitting saws, and turning tools/inserts.

Proficiency in using precision measuring tools—calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators, etc.

Basic math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry).

Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and machining centers.

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and G‑code programming.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

Standing, manual work, and lifting up to 50 pounds (25% of the time); walking, sitting, talking/hearing, climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; reaching with hands or arms.

Environmental Conditions

Work near or with moving mechanical parts and machine shop equipment over 75% of the time; exposure to sharp edges/parts and liquid emissions about 50% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:

$25.00 – $33.00 per hour

Benefits:

2 weeks of annual vacation, 10 paid holidays, 401(k), parental leave, medical (3 plans), dental, vision, and more. Eligibility for insurance and 401(k) begins the month after 30 days of employment.
