Manual Machinist at Allied Maker We are looking for a hands-on manual machinist to join our fabrication team. This role is focused on short-run, high-precision brass work for our luxury lighting products. If you love running a lathe, setting up a Bridgeport, bending parts by hand, and torch-brazing brass until the joint is clean and strong, this is your job.

Key Responsibilities

Clausing Engine Lathe — turning brass parts to ±0.001", precision tapping

Bridgeport Mill and Clausing Mill — slotting, drilling, boring, and milling features on brass and bronze

Flex Arm Tap — precision tapping on bent rods, chasing taps

DAcro Bender & Eagle Roll Bender — forming small runs of bent and rolled stock

Cold Saw & Band Saw — clean, accurate cut-offs

Core Skills

Manual machining on engine lathes and knee mills with precision

Brazing brass assemblies with strong cosmetic results (flux control, avoiding pinking)

Setup, inspection, and finishing of small batch parts

Ability to read shop drawings, interpret GD&T, and use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators

Safe, careful habits with machines and torches

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

5+ years on manual machines, or equivalent training with strong bench skills

Detail-oriented and steady; you take pride in crisp edges and tight fits

Comfortable moving between turning, milling, bending, and brazing in the same day

Reliable and organized — you keep your bench clean and your setups safe
