Overview The Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting group develops automotive technologies that drive the future of mobility. Magna seeks a Program Manager to lead cross-functional teams, manage customer programs, and drive continuous improvement within the program scope.

Responsibilities

Provides expert technical leadership in coordinating, facilitating, motivating, and directing cross-functional program teams; ensures efficient use of team resources; develops and gains support for program objectives; documents and monitors objectives and initiates countermeasures for unfavorable variances. Builds strong customer relationships and ensures alignment with program schedules. Ensures customer and company requirements are met (cost, quality, timing, and other related aspects).

Qualifications

Level I : Bachelor’s degree plus minimum three (3) years experience with project management including a broad understanding of product development engineering practices, principles, procedures, processes, etc.; or equivalent. Experience in the automotive industry preferred. Demonstrated ability to carry out projects from start to end in coordination with internal and external contacts. Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills; ability to prioritize, coordinate projects, manage conflicting needs, and manage multiple issues. Ability to work independently; excellent written and verbal communication; effective with internal and external contacts; strong interpersonal skills to influence at various levels. Demonstrated ability to research and implement continuous improvement processes.

Level II : Minimum eight years experience in engineering or project/program management; or equivalent. Mastery of the field; familiar with technologies, products, customers, and programs. Demonstrated leadership in managing programs to meet goals; ability to develop long-term technical strategies/plans; work independently with substantial latitude; ability to lead and manage several large and complex projects; experience with project financial responsibilities; ability to lead and motivate others; ability to manage staff toward departmental goals; ability to research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new products, materials, processes, etc.; champion innovative opportunities to expand business.
