Group Summary The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Job Responsibilities

Works independently to ensure level production schedules.

Interprets and analyzes customer requests and capacity issues including availability of workforce, machines, time, and materials.

Analyzes, develops, and monitors short-range customer sales and production forecasts.

Develops and maintains production schedules and coordinates all necessary processes with corresponding departments.

Measures actual progress based on customer requirements and reports significant deviations.

Identifies, establishes, and maintains appropriate inventory levels.

Monitors supplier delivery schedules to ensure material coverage in support of production schedules.

Collaborates with Materials Planner and initiates corrective actions as required.

Performs other duties as required which may involve providing work direction and/or supervision to other staff; after hours and weekend work may be required.

Ensures level production schedules based on customer requirements, management goals and objectives, availability of materials, and capacity of equipment; contends with uneven customer demand and adjusts production schedules accordingly.

Maintains all production schedules by ensuring proper utilization of resources, including recommending appropriate levels of production staff and overtime.

Coordinates all necessary processes with Receiving, Quality, Engineering, Finance and Customer Service Departments.

Monitors and measures progress in meeting all production forecast and schedule requirements and reports significant deviations.

Coordinates engineering change orders, product introductions and discontinuations while minimizing obsolete inventory.

Participates in continuous improvement processes and champions projects to improve cost, quality, and delivery.

Researches and recommends current material control management practices and implements appropriate changes as necessary.

Serves as the PICS Department representative on new program teams and reports changes to affected work team members.

May supervise and/or provide work direction to other staff.

Understands responsibility for health and safety in the workplace; cooperates with OSHA inspectors; follows all safety rules; reports unsafe conditions and injuries; does not remove or override safety devices; does not operate untrained machinery; follows Magna policies and recommends improvements.

Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to independently analyze data and determine appropriate course of action.

Demonstrated strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and changing priorities.

Good understanding of production inventory control techniques and principles.

Knowledge and experience with a formal manufacturing control system and Just-In-Time (JIT) concepts, principles, and techniques strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to utilize standard and specialized equipment used to perform job duties.

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.

One year experience in materials or related field; or equivalent.

Experience in the automotive industry preferred.

Three years’ experience in related field including production scheduling, material pull systems, and JIT techniques; or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.

Must maintain proper vision requirements.

Must be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings.

Must have working knowledge of English.
