Superintendent
to lead field operations on complex construction sites.
Position Summary As Superintendent, you'll be the driving force behind the successful onsite execution of heavy civil projects. You'll oversee daily operations from planning through completion, coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
This is a leadership role that requires strong field management experience, a proactive approach to safety and compliance, and the ability to foster a collaborative and productive jobsite culture.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily jobsite activities and supervise field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Plan and schedule manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production goals and deadlines.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, production reports, and punch lists.
Coordinate inspections and ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
Communicate regularly with Project Managers on progress, cost tracking, and scheduling.
Champion a strong safety culture onsite and enforce all safety policies.
Conduct weekly safety meetings and daily job safety analyses
Investigate and report incidents and near-misses in coordination with the Safety Director.
Oversee SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) compliance.
Mentor and train crew members to support leadership development.
Lead with integrity and accountability, aligned with company values.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and resolve conflicts.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven leadership and field management experience in heavy civil construction.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schedules.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control, and civil construction best practices.
Experience with construction softwares (e.g., Heavy Job, Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
Willingness to travel to various job sites and work in diverse weather conditions.
Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
Education & Experience
Associate degree in construction management or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of field experience in landfill or heavy civil construction, with supervisory responsibilities.
Experience with HDPE pipe installation is a plus.
30-Hour OSHA, MSHA Certification, and First Aid/CPR
