Construction Inspector at WSP in the U.S.

Overview WSP is seeking a Construction Inspector to help oversee road, bridge, or related construction projects with construction values ranging from $1–$50 million. The position can be based in Portland, Augusta or Eliot, ME; Merrimack, NH; or Waterbury, VT.

Responsibilities

Interface with contractor supervisors to determine and monitor daily work.

Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.

Help coordinate independent material sampling and testing, or perform these tasks periodically.

Monitor maintenance of traffic.

Take and compile photographs to track daily progress.

Assist in updating red-line drawings using Bluebeam.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct; adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Qualifications Required

High School Diploma

5 years of applicable experience

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Ability to read plans and specifications, or the aptitude to learn

Valid driver’s license

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies

Preferred

Associate of Science in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field

Average proficiency with MS Word Suite

Hands-on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD, or similar; knowledge of Bluebeam

ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring

Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered
