Akima . Warehouse Specialist - U.S. Army Equipment Turn-In Site (Contractor). The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for performing receiving, storage, accountability, and distribution functions in support of Army equipment turn-in operations. This role ensures all equipment and materiel are properly documented, staged, stored, and safeguarded in accordance with Army supply regulations, technical manuals, OSHA standards, and contract requirements. The Warehouse Specialist supports supply technicians, material coordinators, and supervisors to maintain accurate inventory and ensure efficient processing of large-scale equipment turn-ins. Responsibilities
Receiving & Turn-In Support
Receive and verify equipment and materiel turned in from Army units. Check turn-in documents (DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts) for completeness and accuracy. Assist in inspection and condition coding of items before storage or disposition. Coordinate staging and movement of items into designated warehouse or yard areas.
Storage & Inventory Management
Store, organize, and maintain items in warehouse locations in compliance with DA PAM 710-2-1 and AR 735-5. Perform location surveys, bin checks, and cyclic inventories to maintain accountability. Maintain segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, HAZMAT, and sensitive items. Support preparation for Property Accountability Reviews (PARs) and audits.
Material Handling & Equipment Use
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other MHE to safely move and stage equipment. Ensure safe handling of hazardous materials and compliance with environmental regulations. Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing equipment for shipment or redistribution.
Documentation & Records
Input and update property transactions in Army logistics systems such as GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP. Maintain warehouse logs, inventory control sheets, and daily activity records. Support audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
Customer & Unit Support
Provide assistance to unit supply personnel delivering equipment to the site. Resolve discrepancies in documentation and coordinate corrections with supervisors. Support coordination with transportation personnel for outbound shipments.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in logistics or supply preferred. 2-4 years of warehouse, supply, or logistics experience (Army or contractor preferred). Familiarity with Army turn-in and supply procedures highly desirable. Army supply/property accountability regulations (AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-21). Army logistics systems (GCSS-Army, LMP, DPAS). Material handling and warehouse safety practices. Ability to read and process Army documentation (DA and DD forms). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Forklift/MHE operation certification (OF 346) preferred. Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and teamwork skills. Ability to work in high-tempo, large-volume turn-in environments. Must be able to travel within the US when/if required. Must have a Real ID. Must have a valid state driver\'s license for the state of Colorado w/proof of vehicle insurance. Job Details
