About the role: In support of the External Operations division, the Principal Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing analytical and robust approaches to support strategic sourcing strategies that result in lower total costs, greater supplier value contributions and a sustainable competitive advantage within key sourcing categories.

Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing strategic supplier relationships according to the sourcing strategy and strategic differentiators for each supplier

Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks within the supplier base

Promoting continuous value improvement for all aspects of quality, service, and cost with assigned supply base

Managing supplier performance and identifying Value Improvement Programs to improve the total cost of ownership (TCO)

Establishing an optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure with supply base to ensure the maximum value is realized, including negotiations on supplier contracts and value improvements

Overseeing the annual budget process for assigned suppliers and resolving systematic issues

Establishing early involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost

Gathering market intelligence and trends for category development and optimization

Providing acquisition integration and new product development support as needed

Leading continuous improvement projects within the sourcing team to enhance performance

Required qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field

Minimum 7 years of experience in sourcing and supply chain management or supplier relationship management

Experience with MS Office Excel and other applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, MS Project etc.)

Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s Degree or professional certification (i.e. CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)

Experience sourcing finished medical devices from contract manufacturers and OEM’s

Experience working in medical device or similar regulated industry

Strong decision‑making and negotiation skills, ability to influence internal and external teams

Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to complete projects

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills: process and results‑oriented

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to multi‑task and prioritize competing responsibilities effectively

Maximum Salary: $156900

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
