Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as an Engineering Lead of Bombardier Defense Strategy & Business Development. This role blends market intelligence, strategic planning, and business development to drive growth across our defense sectors. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior leadership, technical teams, and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, shape strategic initiatives, develop engineering concepts and solutions, and support long‑term business objectives.
Contributions to the Team
Conduct in‑depth market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, threats, and growth opportunities across aerospace and defense domains.
Lead strategic campaigns targeting missionized configurations and payloads for DoD and Intelligence Community clients.
Develop and implement strategic frameworks and business cases to evaluate new opportunities and support executive decision‑making.
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and recommend engineering defense product strategies, long‑term objectives, and investment priorities.
Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting and strategic planning.
Maintain dashboards and key databases to provide actionable insights to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and conferences to promote capabilities and build strategic relationships in collaboration with the engineering teams.
Cultivate partnerships with consultants, subcontractors, and government stakeholders to position the company for future pursuits.
Support capture & proposal teams with competitive assessments, win strategies, and price‑to‑win analysis.
Identify and support engineering tools and processes improvement roadmap to enhance productivity and data quality.
Provide regular updates on market dynamics to support governance and strategic planning processes.
How to Thrive in This Role
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Strategy, Business Development, Project Management, or Management Consulting.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or business aviation industries, with a strong understanding of mission system solutions.
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and align stakeholders toward strategic goals.
Strong financial and analytical skills, including financial modeling and forecasting.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
Experience engaging with U.S. Government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners.
Willingness to travel.
Preferred Skills
Established network within DoD and Intelligence Community.
Self‑starter with a disciplined approach to managing complex projects independently.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data visualization tools.
