We are seeking a
1st Shift Inventory Control Supervisor
who is dedicated, detail oriented and wants a stable consistent hours where OT is always available. We have no shortage of work at
Global Power Components .
Global Power produces weld assemblies, fabricated metal buildings, and large complex assemblies of power equipment. The inventory control specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory control processes on the manufacturing floor. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, supply chain, and engineering to ensure a streamlined inventory system.
Responsibilities
Process Development and Oversight
Implement standardized inventory control processes on production floor.
Support production supervisors in their adoption of control processes. Define and reinforce expectations.
Establish repeatable processes for receiving, stocking, kitting, and returning parts.
Monitor inventory levels; Ensure levels align with production needs.
Lead periodic inventory audits and 5S initiatives.
Train and supervise Inventory Control Specialists &/or material handlers.
Bin Stock Management
Using Lean Manufacturing tools, establish efficient material staging for production.
Create and maintain bin stock locations.
Implement labeling standards for parts and bins.
Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
Develop standardized delivery systems and packaging methods (with assistance from industrial engineering team).
Material Flow
Monitor status of manufactured components. Expedite through production supervisors.
Analyze usage patterns and adjust strategies as needed.
Report material transactions to ERP system &/or ERP team.
Minimum Qualifications
Formal training in Supply Chain Management, Operations Managing, Production Demand Planning, or related field.
5+ years experience in inventory control or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with ERP Systems and digital inventory management tools.
Demonstrate knowledge of inventory control practices (FIFO, Kanban, JIT, Make to Inventory, Make to Job)
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Smartsheet or Epicor.
