The Creedmoor, NC site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Firstmark, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin. With over 1,300 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace.
Position Senior Commodity Manager – onsite in Creedmoor, North Carolina. Reports to the Vice President, Supply Chain.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
15 years of progressive experience in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles
Strong operational, project management, finance, and strategic planning knowledge
Proven track record of negotiating and managing complex global supplier agreements and partnerships
Experience leading large, global supply management solution projects
Strong financial acumen and ability to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and business cases
Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to operate across cultures and geographies
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
Responsibilities
Develop and execute commodity strategies for assigned categories, including sourcing, spend segmentation, supply market analysis, supplier capability assessment, and risk management
Lead supplier negotiations and establish strategic agreements that deliver cost, quality, and service improvements
Manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement across the global supply base
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and program needs
Build and lead a high‑performing global sourcing team capable of supporting current and future growth
Stay current on market trends, cost drivers, and economic outlook to guide sourcing decisions and identify opportunities or risks
Travel to supplier and Ontic operating locations to evaluate capabilities, resolve supply issues, and foster supplier innovation

Salary Range $150,000 – $170,000 per year, based on experience.
