Provides expertise and senior level guidance on legal support and services in matters of complexity, sensitivity, and significant financial impact to the company. Serves as an expert with in-depth legal knowledge in a specialized area. Leads legal projects and mentors other team members to ensure success of legal activities. Represents company interests in formal and informal legal proceedings, including federal, state or local judicial, or dispute resolution processes. Collaborates with business leaders to proactively address legal risks and deliver strategic legal solutions. Contributes to the development and implementation of legal policies and practices, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Exercises sound judgment and autonomy in advising on legal matters that influence business operations. Provides trusted analysis, proposed solutions, and representation.

Participates in the resolution of complex, sensitive, and/or financially significant legal matters and ensures resolution in an efficient manner Conducts research on legal principles and precedents, including consulting with outside legal counsel to provide guidance and support to business units’ legal matters Anticipates significant legal issues in the practice area of expertise and develops innovative legal solutions that support business objectives Creates and executes legal documents, including gathering relevant information using multiple sources and methods Represents the company legally in workplace disputes or claims of employer wrongdoing (e.g., wrongful termination, contract disagreements, unemployment issues, and discrimination) Provides expert guidance and work instructions to other professionals, para-professionals, and legal team members Represents and advocates for the company in litigation, arbitration, mediation or other legal disputes with third parties Provides expert support across business unit activities ensuring that legal issues, contracts, disputes, and complex transactions are effectively completed, in accordance with applicable legal requirements and in alignment with company objectives Guides and directs leaders to ensure business units are operating in accordance with applicable legal parameters Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Graduate of accredited law school and admitted to the bar with 10 years of legal experience as a licensed attorney practicing law in areas including: commercial transactions, federal and state regulatory law (energy), environmental, tort and/or commercial litigation, corporate finance and/or governance, and labor and employment law. Preferred Other Qualifications
Experience in energy industry Experience practicing in an administrative forum in the field of energy or public utility law/regulation Experience in one or more areas of the following: administrative, energy, or regulatory, including before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission or a state public service commission Other Requirements
Exhibits exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills Proficient with computers and office software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.) Advanced analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives and recommend optimal solutions Collaborates with a team and/or matrix structure, supporting multiple clients, procedures, and policy Manages multiple demands from leaders, peers, and subordinates in a positive and even-handed fashion; displays calm demeanor under pressure Prioritizes and manages multiple tasks and projects, including high-visibility initiatives that require teamwork and planning Initiates new ideas and approaches; challenges orthodox practices with reasonable and sound alternatives Additional Information
