Airbus Helicopters is looking for a
Quality Inspector (B)
to join our Quality Team in Grand Prairie, TX. In this role, you will ensure the highest quality standards by approving incoming/shipping materials through established processes while recording quality inspection results. You will be required to work with inspection tools, aids, and devices to determine tolerances and specification limits. In addition, you will perform detailed inspections of aircraft components, composite materials, blades, dynamic components, paint, and back‑shop activities to ensure specifications are met and identify non‑conformities.

Your Challenges Documentation (50%)
Ensure proper tagging, identification, and airworthiness of parts released to Airframe, Engines, and Accessories
Compare quantity, part number, and serial numbers of items received with procurement data and specifications
Maintain accurate batch/Shelf Life Expiration (SLED) input in SAP and distribute monthly SLED reports
Create QNs for non‑conforming material and ensure all material documentation (e.g., 8130‑3, EASA Form, Certificate of Conformance) is present
Process Goods Receipts during material receiving and document applicable maintenance actions in accordance with FAA regulations
Research airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and alert service bulletins for applicability
Read and interpret engineering drawings, reports, and test specifications
Document items in the Quality Quarantine Cage
Inspection (40%)
Perform required technical inspections to receive or reject incoming material, airframes, and aircraft components
Detect and report unapproved parts and non‑conformities in blades and composite materials using acoustic tap testing
Inspect components in electrical backs‑tops, manufacturing, composites, blades, and dynamic component repair for dimensional accuracy and serviceability
Examine aircraft aluminum, titanium, or steel structures for cracks, corrosion, damage, and improper assembly
Verify proper shimming and joining of structures with rivets or other hardware per design drawings
Detect hidden damage during inspections of airframe structures, blades, engines, and sub‑assemblies during shipping, receiving, or manufacturing
Verify wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical terminations against design drawings
Physically quarantine non‑conforming articles and monitor legal use of measuring and test equipment for calibration compliance
Perform stock inspections and purges when possible non‑conforming material is identified
Organizational Support (10%)

Audit quality procedures and forms used in daily activities to assure compliance with approved methods, current data, and regulatory requirements
Support company events, departmental meetings, special projects, and team meetings
Your Boarding Pass
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three (3+) years as a technician in aviation maintenance/manufacturing or equivalent experience
Meeting requirements of 14CFR Part 65.101 and ability to obtain a repairman certificate within 3 months of employment (current Airbus employees only) OR valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
Ability to read and interpret technical and regulatory documentation
Familiarity with inspection tools, aids, and devices used to determine tolerances and specification limits
5% domestic and international travel availability
U.S. Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or covered by existing ITAR license)
SAP proficiency
Preferred Education/Skills
Associate’s Degree in Aviation or related industry
Two (2) years of quality experience in aviation
FCC 2nd Class License
Technical knowledge of Airbus Products/Programs
Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standards
Physical Requirements
Onsite or remote: 100% onsite unless traveling
Vision, hearing, speaking, and equipment operation at daily/regular frequency
Carry, lift, push, pull, sit, squat, kneel, stand, walk, and travel requirements detailed with specified weight limits (e.g., up to 30 lbs)
Required PPE: safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, protective gloves (office and shop floor)
