THIS IS A PART-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION THIS POSITION MAY END AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT Under the general supervision of the Adult Sex Crimes Supervisor, the Deputy Investigator performs duties related to criminal investigations of sex crimes and related allegations. Responsibilities:

Files charges. Interviews witnesses and interrogates suspects. Prepares detailed reports. Manages a substantial caseload. Subpoenas medical records, therapy records, and any other items needed for case presentation. Testifies in court. Executes arrest and search warrants. Conducts surveillance. Assists other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in conducting criminal investigations. Performs other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary. Management may, at its discretion, assign, or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Minimum Requirements:

Must be an Honorably Retired Peace Officer. A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in law enforcement, record management, or a related field. Must have an active TCOLE Peace Officer License. Two (2) years of patrol and/or criminal investigative experience with any law enforcement agency. Must possess an Intermediate Peace Officer License or higher. A two-year commitment to the Adult Special Crimes Section. Knowledge of Texas Penal Code. Proficient in the use of standard office software programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficient in the use of Superion/RMS, JIMS, CAD, DIMS, and JOTS computer systems. Strong communication skills – both oral and written. Strong organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage a heavy caseload. Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Bilingual. This is a part-time temporary position without benefits. Hours:

A minimum of 20 hours per week with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Hours are based on the needs of the department. Possibly including Weekends and Holidays. Location:
