OREGON YOUTH AUTHORITY (OYA) GROUP LIFE COORDINATOR 2 Tillamook, Oregon – Tillamook Youth Correctional Facility GLC1 Salary: $23.15 - $31.20 hourly GLC2 Salary: $27.83 - $35.22 hourly OYA welcomes you to join our exceptional team of Group Life Coordinators at the Tillamook Youth Correctional Facility. OYA is seeking to fill several openings for the role of Group Life Coordinator 2 (GLC2). As a GLC2, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for youth and staff, provide guidance, and serve as a pro-social role model. Your responsibilities include the following: Coaching, confronting, and correcting youth behavior as necessary. Observing, evaluating, and recording youth behavior, attitude, and participation in treatment groups, recreational activities, vocational/educational programs, and community service projects. Preparing Youth Incident Reports (YIRs) and documenting unusual incidents or critical events. Assigning, training, and supervising youth who perform chores and jobs within the facility (e.g., maintenance, kitchen, laundry, landscaping, janitorial). Supervising youth performing community-based work crew activities when appropriate. Monitoring health and safety risks, including suicide prevention. Conducting security inspections and searches of the facility, grounds, and state vehicles. Administering medication to youth under the indirect supervision of medical staff and coordinating with medical staff for care. Providing secure transport of youth to community appointments as needed. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about working with youth and committed to a safe, positive environment. Multiple Positions: This recruitment will establish a pool of qualified candidates for current and future vacancies – permanent, full-time, part-time, limited duration, and temporary positions. Limited Duration: Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible with a maximum length of service and may become permanent. Under-fill: The goal is to fill at GLC2 level, but we may under-fill to GLC1 if needed; under-fill training will not exceed one year. Salary: Comprehensive base salary within the listed range based on experience, skills, and education. Pay equity information is available via the pay equity page. Salary Notes: The listed range is the non-PERS participating rate and may increase by 6% if you are a participating PERS member or become eligible; review the Classification and Compensation page for details. Working Conditions: OYA facilities are tobacco-free environments. Shift work in a 24/7 operation, including night shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Adherence to site dress code. Frequent exposure to verbal abuse and handling of impulsive, rebellious, or assaultive youth. Possibility of using reasonable force in duties or during disturbances or emergencies. Physical requirements for vision, hearing, dexterity, and mobility (including running and jogging). Transport youth as requested and operate state vehicles if in a security position. How to Qualify GLC2 Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; and Six months of full-time experience observing, evaluating, developing, and monitoring human behavior and performance; or An Certificate or Associate degree in behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field. Under-fill - GLC1 Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Special Qualifications: 21 years of age or older and valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. This position requires a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) with demonstrations of strength, dexterity, mobility, and endurance as specified by the facility.
