This role is based at the Jacksonville manufacturing facility and is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and damage-free delivery of products to customers across North America. Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on
Shipping Manager
to lead the shipping department. This full-time position is responsible for managing all outbound shipping operations, including packaging, scheduling, carrier coordination, documentation, and team supervision in a fast-paced, engineered-to-order environment. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage daily outbound shipping operations, ensuring customer delivery schedules are met Supervise a team of shippers and material handlers, providing clear direction and support Coordinate with internal teams (Production, Project Management, Logistics, and Customer Service) to prioritize and plan outbound shipments Ensure packaging standards are followed to protect complex electrical assemblies during transit Schedule and coordinate freight carriers, flatbeds, and LTL shipments based on project requirements Ensure all shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, international paperwork) is accurate and compliant Maintain shipping records, generate reports, and track KPIs such as on-time delivery and freight costs Monitor inventory of shipping supplies and manage reorder cycles Ensure the shipping area is organized, clean, and operating in compliance with company safety policies Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce freight damage, optimize workflow, and improve delivery performance Collaborate with warehouse, receiving, and procurement teams to streamline material flow through the facility Qualifications
5+ years of experience in shipping/logistics, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management role Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required; experience with large or heavy products preferred Strong knowledge of shipping processes, carrier coordination, and freight classifications Proficiency with ERP systems and shipping software (Infor experience preferred) Solid understanding of packaging, crating, and freight best practices Experience managing both LTL and full truckload shipments Required Skills
Strong leadership skills with a focus on accountability, team performance, and safety High attention to detail and accuracy in shipping documentation and load planning Ability to work under pressure and prioritize in a high-mix, deadline-driven environment Familiarity with Lean concepts such as 5S and standard work is a plus Excellent communication and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook Why Join IEM
