We invite you to bring your expertise as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to GHD in Tampa, FL. Our team supports innovative projects across residential, commercial, municipal, federal and transportation sectors.
Responsibilities As a licensed Geotechnical Engineer (PE) in Florida, you will lead geotechnical and civil engineering services, manage project coordination, provide client engagement, and oversee field operations. Key duties include:
Conduct engineering evaluations and calculations for shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement alternatives, retaining walls, slope stability, pavement sections, and slabs-on-grade.
Prepare signed and sealed final geotechnical submittals as Engineer of Record.
Serve as the geotechnical lead on multi-discipline design projects, including federal stakeholders such as USACE and NAVFAC.
Provide oversight of construction monitoring for earthworks, mass grading, drilled shafts, driven piles, stone columns, subsurface pressure grouting, pavement systems, and vibration monitoring.
Oversee subcontractors and interpret specialty laboratory testing data.
Attend industry workshops, client meetings, prepare proposals for local private entity pursuits, and support proposal teams on larger federal pursuits.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or relevant field of study.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida; additional state licensure is a plus.
5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
Proven technical delivery as Engineer of Record.
Proven project management experience.
Proven client portfolio development, management and retention experience.
Geotechnical laboratory testing data interpretation experience.
Deep foundation inspection experience is a plus.
QA/QC construction oversight experience is a plus.
Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
