This position is located in Newton, NC, and offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Role: Process Engineer, Manufacturing/Production support (full-time) Role Purpose
Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects. Make decisions independently based on sound engineering and scientific methods. Actively participate within and beyond department boundaries to resolve important process and product issues. Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods. Independently execute projects to fulfill department goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to production operations. Support the transfer of new cabling technology, materials, or processes from development to production. Develop plans for how equipment/processes will be employed in production and ensure new technology is repeatable before transfer. Ensure production and maintenance documentation (MIs, SOPs, PMs, calibrations) is completed. Analyze data to understand process capability and monitor trends to drive manufacturing excellence. Interface with operators, team leaders, and peers to implement process, equipment, or safety improvements. Identify process improvement and cost-reduction projects based on data analysis; use scientific methods to develop, test, and prove hypotheses. Prepare cost justifications and capital requests for new equipment as needed to achieve project goals. Soft Skills
Establish a broad network across engineering and technology organizations. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Interpersonal skills: engaging, enabling, open. Planning and organization; effective in managing multiple priorities. Ability to give and receive coaching with peers and Technicians. Travel: Less than 10%. Hours: 8am – 5pm, with off-shift support as needed. Experiences / Education
Required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other technical field. 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Creative/problem-solving skills; strong technical fundamentals in process engineering. Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions; results-oriented with high commitment. Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly; proven ability to mentor and develop talent. Desired
Mechanical design experience (components, tooling, guarding, etc.). Project management including cost estimation, planning, and execution. Experience with statistical packages such as Minitab. Structured problem solving experience (DMAIC or PDCA); Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent. Knowledge of plastic extrusion technologies, cabling processes/equipment, and/or UV curable technologies is useful but not expected. Note: This position does not support immigration sponsorship. Compensation ranges from $95,931.00 to $131,906.00 for full-time status. Starting pay depends on location, experience, training, and education.
