Production Supervisor – Elk Grove, IL We have built a strong reputation as the manufacturer of choice for both labeling and sheet-fed printing solutions. This role is key to driving a step change in our manufacturing approach — bringing structure, control, and lean practices to our Elk Grove facility. We are looking for a change agent who can lead cultural transformation by introducing 5S daily management, disciplined production planning, and data‑driven performance tracking.

Working closely with our experienced production team, you will demonstrate hands‑on leadership, show practical application of lean tools, and drive accountability and ownership at every level. In partnership with our Quality Manager, you will help us streamline processes, optimize workflows, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

Role Overview The Production Supervisor will lead and mentor our manufacturing team across mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, finished unit assembly, and testing. You will be responsible for driving safety, quality, and output while modernizing our production environment with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead & Supervisor Production Staff – Manage, mentor, and assign tasks to production team members. Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Manage Production Schedules – Plan and maintain schedules, allocate resources, and adjust workflows to meet deadlines and customer demand.

Ensure Quality Control – Monitor processes to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards; implement corrective actions when needed.

Drive Safety & Compliance – Enforce safety protocols, conduct audits, and ensure proper use of equipment to maintain a safe work environment.

Optimize Processes & Implement Lean Practices – Streamline part flow, introduce a 5S work environment, and implement clear performance measures between cells and part movement.

Change Leadership – Guide the team through cultural and process change by demonstrating hands‑on use of lean tools and fostering ownership.

Train & Develop Talent – Onboard and coach employees; conduct performance evaluations to build skills and improve results.

Analyze & Report Performance – Track production metrics (output, quality, and efficiency), prepare reports, and use data to drive decision‑making.

Collaborate Cross‑Functionally – Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and other teams to ensure seamless operations and process optimization.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience supervising production teams in a manufacturing or assembly environment (mechanical/electrical).

Strong leadership abilities to motivate, mentor, and guide teams through change.

Hands‑on experience with lean manufacturing tools (5S, daily management, continuous improvement).

Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach.

Excellent communication skills for directing teams and working cross‑functionally.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and on‑time delivery.

Demonstrated ability to drive cultural and operational change within manufacturing environments.

6am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday
