About the Role
Amrize, one of the largest construction materials producers in the world, is recruiting a full-time Diesel Mechanic (6am-6pm). This position will maintain and repair heavy construction, automotive, mechanical, and machinery.
What You\'ll Accomplish
Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures. Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines. Adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems. Maintain and repair chassis, frames, and bodies. Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges, and meters. Lubricate equipment. Maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves.
Perform shop management functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control, making estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
Assist other mechanics as needed.
Have basic computer proficiency and good verbal and written communication skills.
Maintain good organizational skills, meet deadlines, and document issues and procedures.
Work in a team atmosphere and learn new tasks; be able to work unsupervised.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety.
What We\'re Looking For
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Must have a valid driver\'s license; Class A or B commercial driver’s license preferred
3 years of experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions)
Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces
Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist
Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted
Additional Requirements
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators. Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
