We’re looking for a Medical Technologist to join HonorHealth, one of Arizona’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems. In this role you’ll be part of a team that delivers a multi‑dimensional care experience, utilizing robust training & development programs to make a meaningful impact. Responsibilities
Job Summary The Medical Technologist performs complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues, including identification of bacteria, parasites, microorganisms, chemical analysis, and blood cross‑matching. Results support diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention. Prepare and perform a range of laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and timely turnaround. Obtain, prepare, and analyze specimens, maintaining specimen integrity throughout testing. Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, perform calibrations, quality control, and troubleshooting. Maintain compliance with hospital, regulatory, safety, and accrediting agency requirements. Document results and follow up on unusual or critical findings per policy. Assist in training new staff and students, and assume temporary leadership as needed. Manage supply levels, support regulatory preparation, and practice cost containment. Perform other duties as assigned. Education
Doctorate in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, or biological science – Preferred Master’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science – Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, physical, or biological science OR HEW certificate with 4 years’ experience in lieu of a degree – Required Experience
1 year hospital laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist – Preferred 1 year experience for Network Float Pool – Preferred Licenses and Certifications
MT or ASMT certification or accreditation by ASCP, HEW, AMT – Preferred Seniority Level
