We're seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer who is passionate about building scalable, reliable, and high-performance data infrastructure in the AWS ecosystem. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our data ingestion and transformation platform, which integrates data from Microsoft SQL Server databases into AWS Redshift using AWS DMS and Change Data Capture (CDC).
You'll collaborate closely with our data engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure our platform can scale efficiently, maintain data integrity, and enable analytics at enterprise scale. Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain data ingestion pipelines from Microsoft SQL Server to AWS Redshift using AWS DMS and CDC
Architect scalable and fault-tolerant data workflows that ensure high data quality, low latency, and consistent performance
Develop frameworks and automation to streamline onboarding of new databases into the data platform
Collaborate with data analysts, application developers, and DevOps engineers to ensure seamless data availability and integrity across systems
Implement monitoring, alerting, and recovery mechanisms for large-scale data movement pipelines
Optimize AWS DMS configurations, Redshift performance, and SQL Server CDC processes for throughput and efficiency
Manage and tune database replication strategies to handle high data volume and concurrency
Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and healthcare standards
Document platform architecture, pipeline workflows, configurations, and standard operating procedures
Stay current with AWS data services and modern data platform best practices
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development, preferably in large-scale, distributed data environments
Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including CDC, replication, performance tuning, and query optimization
Proficiency with AWS data services such as DMS, Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, and CloudWatch
Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like DBT for large, high-volume data ingestion
Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for automation and data transformation
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD practices
Deep understanding of data modeling, schema evolution, and data lineage concepts
Excellent communication and documentation skills with a collaborative mindset
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
