Description The Technical Sales Manager’s primary objective is to create demand, promote, and sell Valent BioSciences’ new biostimulant product line within the assigned territory. Responsibilities include providing technical services, diagnosing customer problems, and collaborating with R&D and marketing to develop tailored solutions.
Principal Responsibilities
Develop sales opportunities by researching potential customers and soliciting new accounts.
Provide technical support and product performance data, including demonstrations and training.
Meet or exceed annual sales targets.
Analyze new business opportunities for direct end‑users and channel partners.
Review product use trends and customer buying activity to provide accurate sales forecasts.
Provide market intelligence to management and marketing.
Develop and deliver sales presentations, product trainings, and demonstrations at trade shows and events.
Create and implement annual territory and customer business plans.
Transfer technology to end‑users and partners through field training and presentations.
Identify strategic growth opportunities using regional market expertise.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with transportation, finance, and demand planning to optimize service.
Stay current on competitive trends and share insights with the sales team.
Skills

Resolve customer concerns and recommend product modifications.
Experience
5‑8 years of sales experience.
Knowledge of the target customer base and established business relationships.
Understanding of plant physiology, crop production, crop protection, and soil health.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agricultural Business, Soil Biology, Mycology, Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field.
Location & Travel Midwest (USA); 50% travel.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $42,000–$180,000 (plus incentive or profit sharing). Benefits include health coverage, 401(k) with company contribution, immediate vesting for retirement contributions, disability insurance, paid time off, and flexible work arrangements.
