The Roads and Highways Practice is seeking an Engineer in Training: Drainage in Salt Lake City, UT.
The candidate will work in a project team environment for public infrastructure improvement projects. Specific duties will include storm sewer, ditch, culvert, grading, and revetment design, best management practice design, stormwater management plans, water quality analysis, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities:
Perform drainage analysis on transportation projects in Utah and Idaho.
Complete 2D hydraulic modeling and prepare hydraulic reports for bridge replacement projects.
Understand and guide projects through the various regulatory agency permitting processes while ensuring proper standards and methodologies are being used on projects.
Conduct field visits, site inspections and prepare report documents.
Perform design and oversee preparation of plans and details using MicroStation and InRoads/ OpenRoads.
Perform analyses and prepare drainage reports.
Assist in writing drainage and water quality sections for water quality documents.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
0–4 years of hydrology or hydraulics design experience related to interstate and roadway projects
Familiar with MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads software
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of UDOT or Utah local agency drainage design standards
Demonstrated work experience with storm drain modeling software
Familiar with SRH-2d
