The Roads and Highways Practice is seeking a Sr. Transportation Project Manager in Salt Lake City, UT.

This role will focus on project management, design leadership, and business development, contributing to the delivery of complex transportation infrastructure across the region.

What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

Lead and manage transportation projects for local and state agencies.

Project Delivery:

Ensure excellence in project execution, delivering high‑quality, on‑time, and on‑budget outcomes.

Technical Proficiency:

Possess working knowledge of MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D, to oversee transportation designs and plan development.

Design Leadership:

Provide guidance and leadership to design teams, ensuring that engineering documents and deliverables meet contractual requirements and align with DEA’s Quality Management standards, with the ability to stamp project plans.

Business Development:

Assist in cultivating and maintaining effective client relationships to support project delivery, serve as a pursuit champion as appropriate, and serve as a Client Team Lead as appropriate.

Staff Development:

Promote employee development, provide career growth opportunities, and ensure effective project delivery.

Talent Management:

Assist the Roads and Highways Utah Group Leader to attract, develop, and retain top talent. This includes setting performance expectations, rewarding high performers, and addressing areas for improvement.

Firmwide Compliance:

Adhere to DEA’s company‑wide tools, processes, and policies, including project accounting (set‑up, budgeting, etc.), contracting, and quality assurance standards.

What You Bring Required Qualifications

Experience:

15+ years of transportation engineering experience, with at least 5 years in project management or as a design lead.

Team Communication:

Strong ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Licensure:

Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Utah.

Preferred Qualifications

Agency Experience:

Strong background working with public agencies including UDOT.

Design:

Expertise in roadway design and an understanding of bridge design including hands‑on experience with OpenRoads Designer.

Potential salary range:

$170,000 – $215,000
