Job Summary Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator to provide technical leadership and hands‑on expertise in managing enterprise IT infrastructures across hybrid and cloud‑enabled environments. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of mission systems that support Department of Defense (DoD) and federal operations.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure equipment and enterprise IT systems
Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher
Support Microsoft operating systems, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams in secure environments
Manage and maintain core IT services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and DFS
Troubleshoot authentication mechanisms (Kerberos, LDAP, NTLM) and related tools
Support and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments
Automate and script administrative tasks using PowerShell and .NET
Provide system administration support in large‑scale, multi‑data center environments
Develop technical documentation, compliance reports, and executive‑level briefings
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure secure, reliable IT operations
Required Skills and Experience
Active Secret Clearance
5+ years of experience as a systems engineer or administrator in enterprise IT environments
Proven expertise in infrastructure system installation, configuration, and maintenance
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Office 365, Teams)
Experience in core IT services (AD, GPO, DHCP, DNS, DFS)
Familiarity with authentication protocols (Kerberos, LDAP, NTLM)
Experience with PKI administration and troubleshooting
Hands‑on skills in automation and scripting (PowerShell, .NET)
Working knowledge of networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls)
Analytical and problem‑solving skills in complex enterprise environments
Experience supporting DoD or federal mission IT operations
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of database and programming concepts (preferred)
Required Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Computer Science, or a related field
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (preferred)
CompTIA Sec+ (Required)

Security Clearance A high‑level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
