MNC Inspiring Success
Under the supervision of the CIO, the Development Associate assists in overseeing fundraising activities and recording donations to MNC. They support communications with donors and donor prospects and identify potential donation sources while tracking the progress of all fundraising, including campaigns. This role is critical to donor stewardship, appeals, communications, and fundraising events. Ideal candidates are meticulous organizers and strong short‑form writers with nonprofit experience and fundraising experience.

THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED IN SAN DIEGO/TEMECULA AREA
Fundraising Operations & Donor Support
Maintain the master pipeline tracker (prospect stage, next action, owner, due dates). Prepare 1‑page donor/prospect briefs. Draft thank‑you and follow‑up emails for CIO review; log all touches. Schedule/confirm donor meetings and prep materials. Light prospect research for aligned foundations, DAFs, corporate matches. Update and maintain Donor Perfect donor list. Generate and mail various appeals throughout the year. Foundations & Grants (Calendar + Grant writing)
Own the Foundation & Grants calendar: deadlines, portal links, attachments. Draft LOIs and proposal sections using approved boilerplate. Track reporting requirements and coordinate attachments. Program & Affordable Housing Support
Maintain timelines and contact sheets for affordable housing projects. Maintain partner lists and follow‑ups for housing funders. Executive & Committee Support
Draft agendas and take clean action‑oriented notes for Development Committee. Keep a “Waiting On” list to unblock CIO tasks. Customer Service
Provide exceptional customer service. Position Qualification Requirements
Education
AS Degree in nonprofit management, communications, business administration, or related field preferred; bachelor’s degree a plus. Experience
Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations. Skills And Abilities
Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent short‑form writing skills. Detail‑oriented with high accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Proficiency in donor database systems (Donor Perfect or similar CRM). Comfortable coordinating small events. What We Offer
