Position Summary
The Superintendent plays a key leadership role in delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. This position requires strong field management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate all site activities with minimal supervision. The Superintendent will partner closely with Project Managers to ensure seamless execution, maintain quality standards, and foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and according to specifications and quality standards.
Serve as the primary field representative and point of contact for clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors.
Plan and manage daily and weekly site operations, including manpower, equipment, and material coordination.
Collaborate with the Project Manager on scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to drive overall project success.
Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and identify potential conflicts or constructability issues.
Enforce and promote the company’s safety program, conducting regular site inspections and safety meetings.
Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
Maintain daily field reports, progress photos, and documentation in company systems (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
Coordinate site logistics such as deliveries, laydown areas, and site access to optimize workflow.
Support the closeout process, including punch lists, inspections, and as-built documentation.
Mentor and lead field staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience accepted.
7–15 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a Superintendent role.
Proven track record managing ground-up or renovation projects in sectors such as industrial or commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of building systems, construction means and methods, scheduling, and safety protocols.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
Willingness to travel 2–3 times per month for short site visits.
