PSI Quantum
Overview
Quantum computing holds the promise of humanity's mastery over the natural world, but only if we can build a real quantum computer. PsiQuantum is on a mission to build the first real, useful quantum computers, capable of delivering the world-changing applications that the technology has long promised.
Our architecture is based on silicon photonics and we leverage high‑volume semiconductor manufacturing processes to produce the components. In 2024, PsiQuantum announced two government‑funded projects to support the build‑out of our first Quantum Data Centers and utility‑scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia and Chicago, Illinois.
Job Summary At PsiQuantum, we are building a general‑purpose silicon photonic quantum computer to tackle many important problems. We are seeking a creative and innovative individual with strong fundamentals in photonic devices and circuits to push the boundaries of high‑performance integrated photonic components. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, proficiency in photonic circuit simulations, and experience with commercial electromagnetic simulation packages and photonic optimization techniques. Extensive experience with Python for scientific calculations and automation is required.
Experience / Qualifications Education
PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science.
Experience
7+ years of relevant work or academic research experience in integrated photonics.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong computational and analytic skills in photonic design, simulations and data analysis.
In‑depth knowledge of photonic devices, including performance metrics and testing techniques.
Proficiency in Python programming for software development and automation.
Extensive experience with photonic design using commercial software platforms.
Experience with cross‑functional team alignment and driving complex projects.
Experience with the following is a plus: AWS services, SQL for data manipulation, parallel computations.
PsiQuantum provides equal employment opportunity for all applicants and employees.
