Position Cedar is on a mission to help urban housing developers in America’s growing cities acquire land and build more housing as quickly as possible. To support this mission, we’re looking for a talented Project Architect to join our Design Team and make significant contributions to the execution of projects. The Project Architect is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of Cedar projects. A Project Architect will manage the schedule, staffing and execution of two to three projects, concurrently, in different stages of design and construction. (The title will include “Architect” if applicant is a licensed architect in the state of Texas.)
Qualifications Required Work Experience
Leadership: The Project Architect will lead small teams of 2 to 3 designers to successfully take projects from land planning through construction administration. Demonstrating team building and leadership skills will be a critical part of the role.
Technical Knowledge: The Project Architect will be responsible for zoning and building code analyses, residential design expertise, specifications, product selection and detailing. Software expertise must include Revit, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office. The Studio Director and Director of Design will assist them in areas of lesser competence to grow their complete knowledge of residential project execution.
Client Management: The Project Architect will be the day-to-day contact for clients regarding the project schedule and delivery of milestones.
Education
5-year BArch or MArch degree (preferred)
Skills
6+ years of experience in an architectural office. Licensed professionals are preferred.
1+ years in a project architect or job captain role, running the day-to-day of architectural projects.
2+ years in the residential architecture sector is required. Multi-family experience preferred.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Running the day-to-day processes of two to three residential projects concurrently.
Managing staffing and schedules
Building Code analysis
Setting up projects (models, drawings, sheets, etc.)
Modeling, design and execution of drawings for all major project milestones
This position reports to the Studio Director.
