Our client, a global manufacturer with over 80 years of innovation and operational excellence, is seeking an experienced Automation and Controls Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This position plays a pivotal role in driving manufacturing optimization by supporting the design, programming, integration, and ongoing improvement of automated production systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience with industrial automation technologies, thrive in a fast‑paced setting, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support world‑class production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and optimize PLC‑based control systems for high‑volume manufacturing operations.

Lead and support equipment commissioning and startup activities, ensuring all systems are fully integrated, tested, and aligned with performance expectations.

Program and troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell PLCs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to support system functionality and user accessibility.

Integrate sensors, servo motors, actuators, and vision systems into manufacturing lines to enhance automation, accuracy, and quality assurance.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical engineers, maintenance teams, and production supervisors to address electrical control issues and implement system upgrades.

Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of control system failures to minimize downtime and maintain production targets.

Participate in developing and maintaining documentation, including electrical schematics, control logic diagrams, and system operating procedures.

Contribute to ongoing improvement projects involving safety, efficiency, and automation advancements.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in automation engineering, industrial controls, or equipment integration in a manufacturing environment.

Strong proficiency in Allen‑Bradley / Rockwell PLC programming (RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000) and HMI configuration.

Experience supporting machine startups, commissioning, and troubleshooting in a production environment.

Familiarity with servo systems, actuators, sensors, and industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).

Solid understanding of electrical schematics, wiring, and system safety protocols.

Ability to work independently and cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical teams.

Strong problem‑solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
