Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Embedded for a direct job with a client in Rochester, NY. Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field to be considered. You will be developing and implementing software for embedded systems, designing and debugging firmware, and optimizing system performance and stability. Key responsibilities also involve collaborating with hardware engineers, testing and validating the software-hardware integration, and providing post-production support. Rate Details
Rate Range: US$110,000 to US$120,000 per year. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Responsibilities
Guide the architectural design and evolution of software for automated immunohematology instruments. Strong ability to define requirements and User Stories for design changes. Define and enforce software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our software capabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high performance and reliability of our systems. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions. Perform other work‑related duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum five years related experience. Experience in a regulated industry: FDA 21 CFR 820, the Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304. Strong professional software experience in Windows environments. Experience with embedded real‑time applications written in C, C++. Experience with real‑time operating systems and multitask/multi‑threaded embedded applications. Experience with setting up and executing a full CI‑CD pipeline. Experience with image processing, transfer and storage for both high and low resolution images. Familiarity with a software version control system (Git, SVN, ADO, etc.). Benefits
