Essential Functions
Obsolescence Management
Develop and maintain a proactive obsolescence tracking system for critical components and materials. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to identify and mitigate risks related to product lifecycle and availability. Lead cross‑functional reviews to assess impact and develop mitigation strategies (e.g., last‑time buys, redesigns, alternate sourcing).
Strategic Sourcing
Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic suppliers to support long‑term business goals. Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to drive cost savings and value creation. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and supply chain resilience.
Supplier Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure performance, innovation, and responsiveness. Lead supplier selection & recommendation activities, including qualitative/quantitative analysis, selection criteria, RFI/RFP development, and bid analysis. Provide forecasting and explanations of various financial metrics, such as PPV, material standards, savings/deflation, inventory turns, material variances, etc. Monitor supplier KPIs and lead performance improvement initiatives. Place and manage standard purchase orders as needed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance, to align procurement strategies with business needs. Support new product introductions and end‑of‑life transitions from a sourcing perspective.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred. 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management. Proven experience in obsolescence management and supplier negotiations. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools; SAP experience a plus. Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional initiatives. Preferred Additional Skills
Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP). Experience in manufacturing or technology‑driven industries. Familiarity with risk mitigation strategies and lifecycle cost analysis. Seniority level
