About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
PCMS CVN QA Inspector
to support our partner with quality assurance efforts for the
Passive Countermeasure System (PCMS)
on U.S. Navy
nuclear-powered aircraft carriers (CVNs) . This role is critical in ensuring shipboard survivability by maintaining the Navy’s stealth and countermeasure standards. The ideal candidate has prior shipyard or naval QA experience, strong knowledge of
NAVSEA standards , and current
PCMS certification with CVN endorsement
(or ability to obtain it). Key Responsibilities
Perform
quality inspections
of PCMS tile, coating, and material installations on CVN platforms. Verify all work meets
NAVSEA Standard Items, JFMM, and MIL-STD specifications . Document, track, and report inspection results using Navy-approved QA systems. Identify and resolve non-conformances; work with shipyard teams and supervisors to ensure compliance. Provide
final QA sign-off
for PCMS installations and repairs on CVNs. Support audits, testing, and inspections with Navy QA representatives. Maintain accurate, audit-ready QA records and inspection reports. Uphold all
safety and security protocols
in shipyard and onboard environments. Qualifications
Required:
PCMS QA Certification (Level I or II) with
CVN endorsement
(or ability to certify). QA experience
in naval/shipyard or defense contracting environments. Strong understanding of
shipboard QA practices, documentation, and Navy standards . Ability to interpret technical drawings, standards, and procedures. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Security clearance
(Secret preferred) or the ability to obtain one. Willingness to work
onboard CVNs, in shipyards, and travel as required . Preferred Skills
Prior hands-on experience with PCMS installation or repair. Familiarity with
NAVSEA Standard Items, JFMM, and MIL-SPECs . Experience interacting with Navy QA, shipyard supervisors, and contractors. Strong technical writing and reporting skills. Why Join
