About the role As part of Global Sourcing, the Supplier Engineer serves as a technical lead for the Extrusion category team, interfacing with the supply chain and design and process development teams to ensure design functional needs and design for manufacturability needs are both met. The incumbent will work independently to manage projects for onboarding extruded components, partnering with cross‑functional teams to execute deliverables according to business needs.

Your responsibilities will include:
Providing functional guidance for component design and material selection of extruded components, partnering with cross‑functional teams to provide recommended design considerations for new product development
Supporting the development phase, qualification and production release activities
Partnering with the category team to review and sustain approved suppliers; source new suppliers as necessary
Incorporating leading market trends to support the category strategy and drive improvements
Integrating new products and processes into the existing manufacturing area, while ensuring minimal disruption and timely supply chain of compliant and quality components to the customer
Planning and coordinating all project phases and tasks; lead engineers and cross‑functional teams to qualify and improve supplier processes
Communicating project plans and progress with project teams and stakeholders to gain support and resources from plant management
ensure project schedule adherence and robust understanding of product design, assembly requirements, and supplier capabilities
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline with some extrusion manufacturing experience
Minimum 5 years of polymer processing
Working knowledge of analytical techniques used to investigate component defects
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and/or process optimization
Ability to travel up to 20% globally
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in (chemical, mechanical or polymer) engineering or materials science
Experience working in medical device or a similarly regulated industry
Experience with resins and/or adhesives with relationship management
Experience leading cross‑functional project teams; ability to influence and drive
Working knowledge of statistical methodologies
Ability to navigate ambiguous situations with effective change management and conflict resolution skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels; strong technical writing and reporting skills
Organized and detail‑oriented; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop internal and external relationships
Effective problem‑solving and critical thinking analytical skills; results‑driven
